UPAC, Quebec’s anti-corruption police, has launched an investigation into the Quebec Liberal Party, according to multiple media reports.
UPAC was previously looking into the internal crisis that’s been shaking the provincial party led by Pablo Rodriguez to determine if it could justify an investigation.
It’s the latest development for the embattled Quebec Liberals following the suspension of Marwah Rizqy, which was triggered by the dismissal of her chief of staff Geneviève Hinse, and vote-for-cash allegations that may or may not be related to those high-profile dismissals.
Rizqy reportedly met with UPAC two weeks ago.
More coming.
