Prime Minister Narendra Modi met NDA Members of Parliament of Karnataka on Wednesday, and urged them to intensify their engagement with people on the ground and strengthen communication about the Centre’s welfare programmes, especially in a state where the BJP is currently in Opposition.

In the meeting, held at Prime Minister’s Office in the national capital, PM Modi individually asked each MP about the work underway in their constituencies and the core priorities they were focusing on.

Stressing the importance of grassroots connect, the Prime Minister said MPs must stay closely linked with people and “work actively on public issues."
