Pea Ridge asks residents to get into the spirit of giving with food, toy donations this holiday season

PEA RIDGE -- The city is encouraging residents to get into the spirit of giving this season by bringing food and toy donations to City Hall.

The city is accepting food donations for Christmas Blessing Baskets for 150 families this season. Each food blessing box will contain two cans of green beans, one can of cream of mushroom soup, one package of French fried onions, two cans of corn, cookies and cocoa for Santa, one box of macaroni and cheese, one package of rolls, five pounds of potatoes, one pie and one ham, according to information provided by the city.

In addition, people may donate money toward the purchase of food for the boxes.

Volunteers are welcome to assist in assembly and giveaway of boxes as well, according to the city. Assembly of food boxes will begin at 1 p.m. Dec. 22 a
