Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is one of three Members of the Legislative Assembly to be issued recall petitions.

Smith has been issued a recall petition for her riding of Brooks-Medicine Hat in southern Alberta.

Heather VanSnick, the resident who initiated the process to recall the MLA, stated in her reasoning that she does not live in the community and has no meaningful history within the community. “Ms. Smith is no longer fit to serve,” concludes the statement.

Smith responded by stating that she “regularly makes [her]self available to meet with constituents” and is proud to serve the community she represents.
