Could the New York Yankees have a splash up their sleeve?
New York's outfield has been the subject of discussion this offseason so far. The Yankees offered Trent Grisham the qualifying offer, which he accepted. Cody Bellinger shined in 2025 with New York and is now one of the top free agents still looking for his next opportunity. Yankees general manager Brian Cashman has been effusive in his praise of Bellinger this offseason, but the two-time All-Star remains available for the taking.
Retaining Bellinger would be great, but it sounds like the Yankees have "checked in" on other options as well. Jon Heyman of the New York Post reported on Wednesday that the Yankees are among the group of teams that have "checked in" on former Chicago Cubs outfielder Kyle Tucker.
