SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Community Partnership of the Ozarks is asking Springfield businesses and organizations to help keep volunteer numbers up using a new program.
Community Partnership of the Ozarks runs the Crisis Cold Weather Shelters in Springfield, which are fully staffed by volunteers. Fourteen shelters in Springfield require around five volunteers to stay open.
To support long-term volunteers, CPO started its Workplace to Warm Place program.
“This last year we decided to roll out the Workplace to Warm Place campaign as a way to sort of incentivize other organizations that maybe don’t have the capacity or the bandwidth to volunteer all the time or to support a shelter, but to be engaged in some way,” Emily Fessler, CPO’s Continuum of Care Director, said.
