GASTONIA, N.C. — Gastonia Police Department has released security camera footage of two suspects involved in shots fired at Eastridge Mall on Thursday, Dec. 4.
Investigators say two young men were causing a disturbance inside Hibbett Sports at the mall. When asked to leave, one person fired two shots at an employee then ran off. The shots did not hit anyone but damaged property.
The footage shows the two suspects in the mall wearing face coverings and hoodies, one carrying a long gun. At one point, one has the face covering up and his face can be seen.
Witnesses say the pair ran towards a four-door, "Gamecock" red, mid-size SUV on the Bargain/Thrift Store side of the mall and sped off. They also say there was a phone mount in the front, "like an Uber."
