FRANKFORT, Ky. — The student killed in Tuesday’s shooting at Kentucky State University has been identified as De’Jon Fox Jr., 19, of Indianapolis.
The Franklin County Coroner’s Office said Fox died at Frankfort Regional Medical Center at 4:33 p.m., about an hour after he was shot on campus. Preliminary findings indicate he died from injuries sustained in the shooting.
An autopsy was performed Wednesday, but final results are expected in 14 to 16 weeks, according to Franklin County Coroner William C. Harrod.
Jacob Bard is in jail, charged with murder and assault. Authorities said Bard was not a Kentucky State student. It is not yet known why he was on campus or what prompted the shooting.
