Vikram Sharma , the Indian-origin man who fled to India after he was identified as one of the accused who torched Punjabi musician Ap Dhillon's vehicles at his British Columbia home at the behest of the Lawrence Boshnoi gang, was at that time living in Canada illegally. His student visa expired in April 2024 and he was seen setting fire to Dhillon's car in September 2024. The details were revealed in a court hearing on the case. The 23-year-old is believed to be in India, the prosecutors said. "Prior to the offence, Mr Sharma had provided some fraudulent documents to Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada trying to re-establish his student visa, but because they were determined to be fraudulent, he was required to have an in-person attendance meeting," the prosecutor said.
