AS BJP MLC Amit Gorkhe alleged the existence of a multi-crore property tax scam in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, the state government on Wednesday directed Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar to probe the matter.

”The allegations made by the member will be probed by the Municipal Commissioner,” Industry Minister Uday told the Maharashtra Legislative Council today after Gorkhe raised the issue.

Alleging that there was a property tax in PCMC, Gorhe said,”A serious irregularity, excess tax billing and violations of rules regarding bill payment has taken in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.”
