NEW DELHI: A Delhi court on Thursday granted interim bail to former JNU student leader Umar Khalid in the Delhi riots larger conspiracy case, allowing him to remain out of custody from December 16 to 29 to attend his sister’s wedding. Khalid, arrested under the unlawful activities (prevention) act (UAPA) in connection with the alleged conspiracy behind the February 2020 communal violence, had sought temporary relief citing family commitments. The court allowed the request after noting the purpose and limited duration of the bail, reported LiveLaw. During his release, Khalid has been directed not to use social media, or contact any witness. He has to only meet his family members, relatives and friends.
