WASHINGTON, D.C. [KWWL] — Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley has introduced several bills aimed at protecting children. Lawmakers are focusing on addressing issues involving children being exploited online.

One of Grassley's bills would hold someone convicted of online sextortion accountable as if they were charged with child sexual abuse material.

"They often focus on vulnerable populations. Like those with mental health issues, lack of strong family and community ties, or other insecurities," Grassley said.

Another bill from Grassley offers guidelines on child sex abuse to the U.S. Sentencing Commission.
