ABC News’ Good Morning America has ascended to the top spot, snapping NBC News’ Today’s five-week win streak in total viewers during the first week of December.
However, the battle for first place was a tightly contested matchup, with only 33,000 total viewers separating the two morning shows. Meanwhile, the two broadcasts were separated by 56,000 viewers in the demo.
This week, all morning shows finished above 2 million total viewers, with CBS Mornings being the only one to see gains in both measured categories.
According to national live+same-day big data plus program ratings from Nielsen, GMA averaged 2.893 million total viewers and 483,000 viewers in the A25-54 demo for the week of December 1. Compared to the previous week , ABC News’ morning show was down by -1% in total viewers
