Asheville and Western North Carolina communities have already seen their fair share of winter weather, even before the first day of winter is officially here. And it's not going away.
The National Weather Service's latest forecast has the North Carolina mountains seeing a slight increase in temperatures on Friday, Dec. 12, and Saturday, Dec. 13. But temperatures are expected to take a nosedive next week, thanks to the polar vortex dipping into the United States and the Carolinas.
