President Donald Trump is signaling support for a Republican proposal aimed at controlling the cost of health care premiums.
Senate Republicans are set to vote on a bill from Sens. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) and Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), according to Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.), which would add an up to $1,500 direct payment into health savings accounts for eligible adults who buy lower-priced insurance plans in 2026 and 2027.
The legislation , which was introduced on Monday, is pushed as an alternative to a proposal from Democrats to extend enhanced Obamacare tax credits for three years.
