Citing persistent outages, a New Orleans City Council committee on Wednesday voted to revive a dormant investigation into Entergy New Orleans' management of its power lines, poles and other equipment.
The resolution approved Wednesday by the council's Utilities Committee points to an uptick in outages caused by equipment failures and vegetation over the last two years and an "apparent lack of adequate asset management and maintenance." It also notes that outages have disproportionately affected certain neighborhoods, though it doesn't identify which ones.
