BONANZA, Ark. — A judge ordered an abatement in the divorce case between Charity Powell-Beallis and her husband, Dr. Randall Beallis , due to Charity's death, according to documents filed on Dec. 8. Now, her adult son is working to intervene.
Charity and her two 6-year-old twins were found dead with gunshot wounds at a home in Bonanza on the morning of Dec. 3, a day after the final divorce hearing. The investigation into their deaths is still ongoing and a suspect hasn't been named by authorities.
While public records say the divorce case is now closed, an abatement order can work as a pause in a case or a dismissal. An abatement order is often made after the death of a party in a case.
