UNIONTOWN, Pa. —

A western Pennsylvania school was temporarily on lockdown on Wednesday after officials said a hunting weapon was recovered outside of the building during school hours.

In a post from Uniontown Area High School in Fayette County, the school was placed under a Code Yellow lockdown, a type of lockdown "for events that are outside of the school and that do not pose a direct threat to students or staff within the building."

School administrators received an anonymous report that a hunting weapon was visible inside a vehicle on school grounds. The school was immediately placed into lockdown, and Uniontown Area School police were notified.
