Gilbert Town Manager Patrick Banger’s staff has shown strong devotion to him over the years. But they and town council members were not above letting their leader have it in his final council retreat.

Banger, who leaves next month to become Glendale’s city manager, took a fair amount of ribbing in the annual two-day retreat Dec. 8-9 at the Southeast Regional Library.

When someone asked that a graphic comparing water tier rates around the Valley use colored lines to differentiate among cities, Councilmember Chuck Bongiovanni asked that Glendale’s line be something really ugly.
