OWENSBORO, Ky. — An indie horror-comedy filmed entirely in western Kentucky will make its nationwide streaming debut Dec. 16, marking a milestone for two local filmmakers who turned personal hardships and a shoestring budget into a gore-filled slasher that’s drawing comparisons to big-studio hits.
“New Fears Eve,” directed and co-produced by Owensboro natives P.J. Starks and Eric Huskisson , follows three coworkers trapped in a deadly New Year’s Eve office party stalked by a plague doctor-inspired killer.
