ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - The St. Joseph County Council rejected a rezoning proposal for a third data center in the county after a 10-hour meeting that ended around 4 a.m. Wednesday.
The council voted 7-2 against the proposal, with only Mark Catanzarite and Diana Hess voting in favor of the rezoning needed for the project.
Hundreds of people packed the County-City building from 6 p.m. Tuesday until the early morning hours for the vote.
South Bend Mayor James Mueller said the meeting might be one of the longest in recent history.
