ANAMOSA, Iowa (KCRG) - Nicole Minnihan became Anamosa’s first female police chief in October, bringing seven years of experience with the department to her new leadership role.

“My goals are through teamwork, accountability, consistency, fairness, and making sure that the department goes in a positive direction,” Minnihan said.

Minnihan’s law enforcement career began in 2009 in Dubuque County before she joined the Anamosa Police Department in 2019.

“Initially, being in law enforcement came from both of my parents being in the service,” she said. “While I was in the military, I was able to provide service as well, which led me eventually into law enforcement.”

She said she’s ready to continue serving her community as chief.
