CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - “I felt like I was wanting to give up,” Emily Imhoff, University of Iowa graduate, said.
Imhoff said she spent months searching for a job after graduating from the University of Iowa for Business Administration last year.
“I started applying for jobs pretty much the month I was going to graduate just to kind of get a head start,” Imhoff said.
She said she applied to dozens of Human Resources jobs and rarely heard back.
When she did, it was a “no.”
“During that time I had lost my part-time job due to them being overstaffed and planning to have me moved on by then,” Imhoff said. “So, I actually went through about two months of unemployment.”
In June, she finally landed a job in transportation.
