Montreal’s REM was experiencing technical issues and service was down for about an hour on the Deux-Montagnes line Wednesday afternoon.

At 4:21 p.m. the network posted to social media that there was a slowdown in service on the entire network.

Then at 4:51 p.m. they posted that between Deux-Montagnes and Bois-Franc stations – in both directions – service was down due to a technical problem.

“A technical problem with a train caused a disruption across the entire network, resulting in widespread service delays across the entire network and a service interruption between Deux-Montagnes and Bois-Franc. We are currently gradually resuming service across the entire network,” wrote Pulsar, the REM’s operator in an email to CityNews at 6 p.m.

Shuttle buses were made available for commuters.
