Justin Herbert offered an update on his broken left hand Wednesday, saying that he got got precautionary X-rays on it immediately following Monday night's win over the Eagles .

The results were good.

"Everything was clean for the most part," Herbert said. "It's just getting the swelling down and continuing to get full strength in it and continuing to do as much treatment as I can."

He later added: "Just took a couple hits, I think the doctors were making sure they're doing everything they can to just take a look and be as safe as possible."

Overall, Herbert added that the status of his hand is in a much better place than it was a week ago.
