GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - The Grand Island City Council approved changes to Woodsonia’s Good Life District application Tuesday evening after addressing concerns raised during its November meeting.

The adjustments focused primarily on the aquatic center, which had been a source of concern for council members in November. Woodsonia’s new plan meets many of the requests the city sought for the facility.

Aquatic center improvements approved

The revised aquatic center will feature 10 lanes that are 25 yards long to meet competitive standards and seating for 400 attendees. The facility will include a separate section for a therapy pool and jacuzzi.

The plans also include an additional 190,000 square feet of open land next to the aquatic center for future buildings and expansions.
