SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A Bay Area airport has received a top international architecture and design award. Terminal 1 at San Francisco International Airport received the World Title for Airports in UNESCO's prestigious Prix Versailles awards.

Terminal 1 at SFO is named for slain gay rights icon, Harvey Milk. The terminal, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, received top honors in the Prix Versailles 2025 World's Most Beautiful Airports List, and was one of only two U.S. airports honored.
