COAL VALLEY, Ill. (KWQC) - Sherrard Fire and Rescue has partnered with Coal Valley Ambulance Service to improve emergency medical response for its residents.
The agreement brings full-time paramedics — who are also trained firefighters — into Sherrard, after the department struggled for years to keep its own ambulance staffed.
Coal Valley will respond from its Coyne Center station with 24-hour ALS coverage, serving as the primary EMS provider for the Sherrard Fire Protection District.
Troy Green, a Sherrard Fire Protection District trustee and volunteer firefighter, says the partnership ensures the district can provide the quick, reliable care residents expect.
