US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth told Congressional leaders Tuesday that he was yet to decide if the full video of a controversial boat strike by the US military would be released.
As criticism of the September boat strike, over a boat from Venezuela allegedly ferrying drugs, rises, Hegseth has been under pressure from the US Congress, including from Republican members, to clear the air around it.
The crux of the controversy is this: Did the US military go for a “second tap”, that is, illegally attack the boat a second time to kill survivors from the first attack? And are the strikes on the Venezuelan boats legal at all?
