Packages of edible chocolate chip cookie dough sold across the country have been recalled in connection to potential salmonella contamination.
Doughy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough has been pulled by maker Hudson River Foods, according to an enforcement report by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) . The recall covers 12-ounce packages with a best by or expiration date of July 4, 2026 and is ongoing.
The action was issued Nov. 20 and deemed a class I recall Dec. 5 , which indicates a reasonable probability of causing serious adverse health consequences or death.
A press release was not issued with the recall. USA TODAY reached out to Hudson River Foods for comment on the recall Dec. 10 and did not receive an immediate response.
