Following the death of Shopaholic author Sophie Kinsella , Isla Fisher is paying tribute to the woman who created one of her breakout roles.

On Wednesday, the actress grieved Kinsella’s death with a heartfelt statement, more than 15 years after starring as shopping addict Rebecca Bloomwood in Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009), which was based on the series of novels that ultimately spanned from 2000 to 2019.

“You conjured Rebecca Bloomwood, a hilarious flawed dream of a comic character – and I was lucky enough to step into her shoes and speak your witty & brilliant words,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.
