Local artists Chris Chapman and John Iwerks recently gifted five original paintings to the former Solvang Country Clinic — now Sutter Health Village Lane Care Center, brightening the waiting room walls with vibrant landscape art.

Chapman and Iwerks, longtime Solvang residents and gallery owners, are plein air painters who sell their art with the aim of raising funds for the preservation of California's open spaces.

“We are honored that Chris and John chose us to be the recipients of their art that our patients, clinicians and staff will be able to enjoy for years to come,” said Matt Baumann, interim ambulatory CEO, Sutter Health Greater Central Coast.
