ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A lawsuit filed Wednesday accuses St. Louis police officers of covering up a false arrest and assault after an officer crashed into a South City bar.

The crash, which occurred at Bar:PM in December 2023, was captured on video.

Owner Chad Morris filed a lawsuit against several officers and the City of St. Louis. Officers detained Morris and his husband; Morris claims he was assaulted. Morris was initially charged, but the charges were later dropped .

In the lawsuit, Morris asks for damages, saying he still suffers from the pain and trauma of his arrest.
