MANCHESTER, N.H. —

The United States seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela, President Donald Trump revealed Wednesday afternoon.

The federal government released a video showing Coast Guard members, working with the Navy, rappelling from helicopters onto the tanker.

Attorney General Pam Bondi posted the video, saying, "For multiple years, the oil tanker has been sanctioned by the United States due to its involvement in an illicit oil shipping network supporting foreign terrorist organizations."

A U.S. official identified the seized tanker as The Skipper.

Trump spoke briefly about the seizure at the White House.
