A 20-year-old newly married woman from Nauli village under Chamakhandi police limits has committed suicide Tuesday. Tulsi Sethi, wife of Mohan Sethi, hung herself from the ceiling fan of at her in-laws’ house with a scarf. Tulsi took the extreme step when all other family members were away.

On being informed, Chamakhandi police SI Laxmipriya Mallick and other officials seized the body and sent it to MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Berhampur for autopsy. “A case of unnatural death (12/2025) has been registered, and an investigation is underway,” said the SI. According to her relatives, Tulsi, a native of Khallikote, got married to Mohan six months ago after they fell in love.
