Stoney Creek beat the weather conditions, then got the better of Lakeland, winning 41-32 on the road Wednesday night.
Jadelynn Freeman scored a game-high 15 points and Izzy Ivezaj added 12 to help the Cougars improve to 2-0.
For the Eagles (1-1), Aubrin Miller ended with 10 points and Alyssa Goldman added seven. Lakeland opened its season on Monday with a 52-31 road triumph over Lake Orion thanks to a 24-point outing by Miller and 11 points by Claire Linen.
