The Kuki Inpi Manipur, the apex body representing the Kuki tribes, has issued a strong condemnation of recent visits by BJP MLA Y. Khemchand to Kuki villages in Naga-dominated areas, describing them as insincere, provocative, and politically motivated.

In a press statement issued on Wednesday, the Kuki body criticized the MLA’s visit to the Litan Sareikhong relief camp, which was accompanied by a heavy security presence, calling it a gesture that “feels neither reassuring nor welcome” amid ongoing ethnic tensions. The purpose of his subsequent visit to Grihang village was also questioned, with the statement noting a lack of clarity about his discussions or objectives.
