Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra, the absconding owners of the Goa nightclub that caught fire last week were detained in Thailand on Thursday.

Caught early in the morning from a hotel in Thailand, the Luthras were taken to detention centres in Thailand's Phuket, after which they are expected to be deported to India by Friday, after processing.

Visuals of the arrest showed the brothers in handcuffs, awaiting extradition processes.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had suspended their passports after a formal request from the Goa police.

Yet, they managed to escape as they had allegedly booked tickets for Phuket barely an hour after a massive fire broke out at their Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Goa's Arpora village, which killed 25 people.
