Former Monroe resident Roger Evans writes Holocaust novel

Writing is therapy for Roger D. Evans.

"Something inside I cannot describe inspires me to write," Evans said in an email. "My experience in the Marines during the Vietnam war (I processed combat replacements out of Hawaii) can get me in a place I never like to be. Whenever I am in that place, writing succeeds in pulling me out."
