The owner of a jewellery shop in Shastrinagar, his son and his nephew allegedly vanshed with gold ornaments worth Rs 6.10 crore from a CG Road-based supplier. The duo got the ornaments under the pretext of organising exhibitions.
Rishabh Shah, owner of a jewellery unit in a CG Road supermall, in an FIR with the Navrangpura police station, said he had been supplying jewellery to Harnesh Shah, owner of Ratnakar Jewellers, since 2017.
Rishabh said Harnesh always paid on time, and over the years, this developed into a strong business trust. However, in April 2025, Harnesh arrived at Rishabh’s office with his son Harsh and nephew Nikesh, claiming they needed about 6 kg of gold jewellery for exhibitions in Gandhinagar, Dholka and two other locations.
