Booing the villain, cheering the hero and stuffing his face with expensive concession junk food, he was the perfect audience for the outrageous silliness of a pantomime show.
This year, it’s Robin Hood and it has more than a passing acquaintance with Hamilton. The show is by Matt Murray, who wrote “ Maggie ,” the musical triumph at Theatre Aquarius, a few seasons ago, as well as this year’s Aquarius opener “ The Time Capsule .”
It was directed by Mary Francis Moore, the accomplished artistic director of our own Theatre Aquarius in Hamilton, who has directed more good shows than you’ve had hot dinners.
So yes, it’s worth the trek to Toronto — after you’ve seen Theatre Aquarius’s hometown hit of “ Frozen ,” of course.
