A series of clipper systems will move into the Chicago area starting Thursday afternoon, the NBC 5 Storm Team said, bringing more snow for some parts followed by an "Arctic Blast" this weekend that could bring wind chills as low as -30 degrees.
Much of the daytime hours Thursday would be dry, NBC 5 Storm Team Alicia Roman said. By around 4 p.m., snow will be begin to develop to the south and west, pushing eastward through the evening hours.
But the snow won't reach everyone in the area.
"It's still to the west of Chicago," Roman said. "Notice our northern counties stay out of it."
Some heavier bursts of snow were expected with the system in Kankakee, Roman said, with snowfall also expected in Grundy and LaSalle Counties.
