JAMESTOWN — The Jamestown Fire Department responded to an odor of natural gas on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at a residence at 415 2nd St. SW, said Capt. Sheldon Mohr.
The call was reported at 4:29 p.m., and one unit from the department and two firefighters responded to the scene, he said, with 12 additional firefighters on standby.
Mohr said firefighters remained on the scene until Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. arrived. He said there was a “very, very slight leak” of natural gas, which was due to a loose fitting on the gas meter, which was taken care of by MDU.
There were no injuries, Mohr said.
JFD was at the scene for 15 minutes.
