EVANSVILLE – Temperatures this weekend in the Tri-State could be even colder than earlier predicted. And now there's a new wrinkle: will we get snow, too?
That possibility looms after the Paducah, Kentucky office of the National Weather Service updated the Tri-State's forecast for Saturday night into Sunday. Here's what you need to know as the weekend inches closer.
How cold will it get?
The NWS' Thursday advisory showed wind chills in Evansville plunging as low as minus-14 degrees early Sunday morning. That's even colder than the minus-6 the weather service floated earlier this week.
The actual temperature won't be much better. Evansville residents will go to sleep Saturday with temperatures around 17 degrees and wake up with a Sunday low of only 4 degrees.
