PORTLAND, Ore. — The motorcyclist involved in a crash with a semitruck Thursday morning has died, Portland police said.

The crash happened on Northeast Airport Way near the Interstate 205 exchange. Northeast Airport Way was closed in both directions under the freeway overpass, but has since reopened.

Officers determined that the traffic signals in the intersection are currently out, but are still investigating whether or not that contributed to the crash.

The motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later died, police confirmed.

Portland police said the motorcyclist will be identified after his name has been confirmed and family has had time to make notifications.
