New Update: A 12-year-old girl who left her Northern Westchester home overnight has been found, police say.

Aurora Quinones, who left home early Thursday morning, Dec. 11, was found safe, Yorktown Police announced later in the day. 

The department had initially reported her disappearance at around 10:20 a.m. on Thursday. 

"Thank you to all who attempted to assist us!" the department said.

Original Report: Police in Northern Westchester are asking for the public’s help in locating a 12-year-old girl who left her home overnight.

According to Yorktown Police, officers are actively searching for Aurora Quinones, the department announced on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 10:20 a.m. 

Police said she was last seen at the CoCo Farms Mini Mart and may be wearing the same clothing seen in an image shared by the business taken at around 2:30 a.m.: a brown jacket, a hoodie, and flannel pajama pants. 

Aurora left her residence sometime overnight, police said. No additional details about the circumstances were released.
