UNION COUNTY, Fla — More than 80 dogs were rescued from "various conditions of mistreatment" in Union and Clay counties Wednesday amid a multi-agency investigation into dogfighting.
The Union County Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook that it was working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Office of Inspector General and the Clay County Sheriff's Office on an intensive investigation into dogfighting and animal cruelty at multiple properties .
The property in Clay County held the largest number of dogs, with 37 rescued, while Union County deputies secured 22 dogs at one property and 23 at another.
UCSO said the Union/Bradford SWAT Team served search warrants on two properties in Union County, one located on Northwest 71st Run, and the other on West County Road 18, Wednesday morn
