Princess Sofia of Sweden did not join the royal family at the Nobel Prize ceremony in Stockholm on Wednesday, no doubt taking the opportunity to spend time with her baby daughter, Princess Ines, whom she welcomed with her husband, Prince Carl Philip, this February.
But the 41-year-old’s absence came just one day after the Swedish palace confirmed that Sofia had met with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on ‘a few occasions’ back before she married into the royal family.
Of course, it would not be the first link between a royal and Epstein, whose friendship with Andrew Mountbatten - Windsor led the former prince to be stripped of his titles by King Charles last month, though Andrew denies any allegations made against him.
