KESHENA, Wis. (WBAY) - A former sheriff of Menominee County died unexpectedly on Tuesday, the sheriff’s office announced. Richard Moses Sr. was 78 years old.
According to his obituary , Moses worked in law enforcement since 1968 until his retirement in 1993. He was constable for Berry Lake, east of Keshena in 1968, then a deputy for the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office in 1974, head game warden in 1976, and sheriff’s investigator in 1978.
He was elected sheriff in 1986.
His obituary read, “I would like to be remembered as a lawman, adventurer, trapper, hunter, a good father, granddad and a loving husband.”
The sheriff’s office extended condolences to his family and friends.
