The holidays are a time when people come together for good tidings and good cheer, but for seniors it is also a period when they get singled out for scams.

To sleigh scammers, U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), the ranking member of the Senate Aging Committee, last Thursday introduced the National Strategy for Combating Scams Act, legislation that would combine the efforts of 13 agencies, currently working independently with different mandates to fight the criminal activity, under the purview of the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
